About Us
Prevention Before Crisis. Hope Before Harm.
Becoming Her Initiative exists to walk alongside girls and young women before life's hardest moments define their stories.
"Prevention is an Act of Hope."
— Becoming Her Initiative
Our Mission
Why Becoming Her Initiative Exists
We believe every girl deserves to be seen, valued, and equipped—before life's hardest moments arrive. Too many young women face challenges without the support, skills, or community connections they need to navigate them well.
Becoming Her Initiative was created to change that. Through mentorship, emotional wellness programming, life-skills development, and a caring faith-rooted community, we help young women build confidence, resilience, and a stronger vision for their futures.
Our goal is simple: reach her before crisis defines her story.
Our Philosophy
Prevention Is an Act of Hope
Prevention is not simply the absence of crisis—it is the presence of hope, support, and opportunity. When we invest in a young woman before challenges become crises, we are saying: your future matters, and we believe in who you are becoming.
We recognize that participants may occasionally need connection to additional community resources or intervention support. When that happens, we walk alongside them and help connect them with appropriate services—because our commitment to each young woman does not end when challenges arise.
Our Approach
How We Support Girls & Young Women
Mentorship & Positive Connections
Consistent, caring relationships with mentors who walk alongside young women—providing guidance, encouragement, and a steady presence through life's challenges.
Building Protective Factors
We intentionally build the protective factors research shows help young people thrive: positive relationships, life skills, emotional wellness, and a sense of belonging.
Skills & Resources Before Crisis
Our programs equip girls and young women with practical life skills, emotional tools, and community resources before challenges escalate into crises.
Early Support & Intervention
We reach young people at a critical time in their development—providing support early enough to make a meaningful difference in their trajectories.
